Are you prepared for emergencies?

May 7 through May 13 represents Emergency Preparedness Week, a Canada-wide initiative to get people thinking about how prepared they are in the event of an emergency, either natural or human induced.

Emergencies can often strike quickly and without warning, are you prepared with a plan should you be encountered with an emergency?

The United Counties of SDG and the Municipality of South Dundas want to encourage our residents to prepare for any and all emergencies, and the first step is to create and Emergency Management Preparedness Action Plan. Click here to create your own personalized Action Plan

Help spread awareness of the importance of an Emergency Management Preparedness Action Plan by posting a selfie with your 72-hour preparedness kit with the hashtag #Prepareyourselfie, and don't forget to visit the United Counties Facebook Page from May 8th - May 12th to share and like the post about the Preparedness Challenge for your chance to win some great prizes, including tickets to Upper Canada Playhouse, Pumpkinferno, Alight at Night or the Historic SDG Jail.

Remember, emergency preparedness starts with you!
