The Municipality of South Dundas has two community composting sites.
The Morrisburg composting site is open year round 24/7. It is located at:
70 Prospect Road
Volunteers operate the Iroquois site during the late spring, summer and early autumn seasons only. It is open from 10 am - Noon on Saturdays from April 4 to November 26. It is located at:
10 Bouck Street
Composting is a simple way to add nutrient-rich soil to fuel growth and vitality. It’s free, easy and good for the environment!
What can I bring to the Composting Sites?
Household Hazardous Waste are materials that are corrosive, flammable or poisonous. These types of products contaminate water and landfills, and should never be poured down the drain or put out with your regular garbage.
To help you dispose of these products safety, the Municipality of South Dundas participates with the Township of North Dundas in its household hazardous waste program. Any resident from South Dundas may take his/her household hazardous waste to the depot located at:
12620 Boyne Road (east of Winchester)
8 am to Noon on the following days:

· October 7, 2017
There are no tipping or dumping charges. However, you will be required to produce your driver’s license or other identification that can confirm your place of residence in South Dundas.

The Municipality of South Dundas has two landfill sites that are open year round. Please note that the Landfill Sites will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1 for the holidays.

Recycle your Electronics
Recycle your Electronics free of charge at both landfill sites. All proceeds from the collection will be donated to the House of Lazarus. Click to view a Detailed Listing of the types of items accepted.
The Municipality of South Dundas has a blue box and green box recycling program. Both are curb side pick-up but must comply with the Municipality’s recycling policies.
Blue Box collection and Green Box collection are collected on alternate weeks and on the same day as Garbage collection. One week, the Green Box material will be collected; the following week the Blue Box material will be collected.

Please note that replacement or additional blue boxes or green boxes may be purchased at the Municipal Office.
Please note that the Garbage and Recycling schedule is postponed one day on Christmas and New Years. It will remain unaffected on all other holidays.
· Recycle material must be placed at curb side no later than 7 am on the day of collection.
· Empty blue boxes and green boxes must be removed from the curb side no later than 8 pm on the day of collection.
· Recyclable material not collected must be removed from the curb side by 8 pm on the day of collection.
· Ensure that all items are free of residue, flattened and that no loose material is on top that will blow away.
