Newly Launched Shop South Dundas Website Profiles Local Businesses Amid Pandemic

Shopping local has never been easier than with the newly launched Shop South Dundas website. Spearheaded by the South Dundas Economic Development department, the website encourages the community to support local businesses and to shop safely while doing so.

“We want to shine a light on all of our local businesses and let our community and beyond know that they are open and ready to serve,” said Rob Hunter, Economic Development Officer.

The website features a comprehensive list of local businesses. The Municipality is encouraging South Dundas based businesses to review the directory and confirm that their business is listed; if not, they can easily send a request directly from the website with their business’s information. Businesses also have the option to expand on the existing information that is included on the page.

Created amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it is hoped this online presence will reach all sectors and let the community know that they are operational.

“Local businesses have supported the fight against COVID-19. Many had to close their doors for several months, and now it is our turn to help support their recovery,” said Mayor Steven Byvelds. “When our community shops local, we are doing our part to ensure the future vitality of our region.”

Residents and businesses can find the new website at www.shopsouthdundas.com.

“Local businesses are the backbone of the economy. They are resilient and have quickly adapted to the pandemic. I am hoping that this tool will help the community come together and support each other during these difficult days,” added Mr. Hunter.
