Roads and Border Crossings

South Dundas is linked to urban hubs by three major highways:

  • Highway 401
  • Highway 416
  • County Road 31

It is also centrally located between two international bridges in Cornwall, Ontario and Johnstown, Ontario, both of which are within a 30 minute drive of South Dundas.

Rail

South Dundas is served by the main Canadian National Railway (CNR) lines, which provides access to over 75% of the U.S. population and all major Canadian markets. An active rail spur is also situated in the Morrisburg Business Park.

Seaway

Located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and home of the St. Lawrence Seaway, South Dundas has a private port. Universal Terminals offers a full seaway draft dock, adequate turning basin and easy access to Highway 401.

The Port of Montreal and The Port of Johnstown are also conveniently located to provide efficient and reliable service.

Air

South Dundas has two airports to provide the ease of flying for small personal aircraft. The Morrisburg and Iroquois Municipal Airports are both located just off of County Road 2.

Ottawa MacDonald Cartier International Airport and Massena International Airport- Richards Field are both located within a 70 km drive from South Dundas.

Commuter Service

Commuting from South Dundas to surrounding cities such as Brockville, Cornwall, Ottawa and even Kingston is made easy by proximity and major highways. For additional convenience, Evans Bus Lines provides a daily commuter service from South Dundas to Ottawa on Route 540 & Route 541.
