By-law Enforcement Student (35hr/week) Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. |
Facility Maintenance Aide (35hr/week) Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. |
Water/ Wastewater Student (40hr/week) Performs water quality tests (ie. chlorine residual, pH). Perform hand excavation, backfilling and repairs of works. Guide contractors in cleaning sewers mains, laterals, manholes of debris and sediment. Maintains, operates and inspects water and wastewater system assets. Assists contractors in conducting CCTV inspections. Assists in hydrant repairs (including painting marking hydrants). Performs routine maintenance, inspection and minor repairs to water and wastewater infrastructure and assists in major construction repairs. Ensures all work performed in compliance with relevant standards, legislation and regulations. Complete forms, records and reports according to approved procedures and methods. Performed other related duties as assigned. A MOECC Operator in Training certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection is an asset. |
Public Works Aide (40hr/week) Assist in the maintenance and repair of Municipal roadways, sidewalks and road allowances. Assist in the maintenance and repair of Municipal vehicles, machinery, buildings and equipment. Involved in roadway and sidewalk construction projects, as well as environmental projects (sewage, water, storm sewers, drainage and waste management). Learn how to work in a team environment. Learn public relation and communication skills. Learn basic technical skills required to perform the tasks, as well as working safely. Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. |
Archives Clerk (35hr/week) Promotes the history of the area by assisting in the activities of the Dundas County Archives. Assists the Archivist in collecting, organizing, cataloguing and preserving historical records of the community. Responds to queries from researchers and assists in conducting document research on their behalf. Assists in searching for records requested by municipal staff in the operation of their work activities. Assists the archivist by scanning and cataloguing a backlog of photographs in the collection. Assists in creating displays to promote local history. Assists in creating research finding aids to assist researchers. Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with clients. Good teamwork, communication and digital skills required. Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. |

Lifeguard (35hr/week) Do you spend most of your summer at the beach, swimming, and working on your tan? These are all things you can do while also serving as a water safety ambassador for the Municipality of South Dundas as a Lifeguard this summer. The Municipality of South Dundas is seeking 6 lifeguards that will be responsible for supervising swimming activities at the Morrisburg and Iroquois Beaches and developing and teaching swimming lessons and fun water activities for all age groups. Applicants must have a Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, have Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and standard first aid training. Carman House Interpreter (35hr/week) Do you enjoy local history? Do you have a passion for the restoration of historical items and educating others about the past? The Municipality of South Dundas’ Carman House Committee is seeking an Interpreter for the Carman House Museum summer operations. The Carman House Interpreter is responsible for delivering museum programs and services, and assist in the research, development, and implementation of museum programs. The Carman House Museum Committee offers a great team building environment with the opportunity for the student to be mentored by local historians to learn about the rich history in South Dundas.
