The Municipality of South Dundas posts important notices to this page, including Special Council Meetings, Notices of Public Meetings, road closures and other important public notices. Below are current notices of interest to the public.

Tree Maintenance
The Municipality would like to advise residents that tree maintenance is currently occurring along the waterfront and in public parks. This maintenance is in accordance with the Municipality’s Emerald Ash Borer removal program. Native replacement trees will be planted throughout the summer and fall to ensure the waterfront maintains adequate shade.

Notice of Public Meeting for proposed By-Law amendments
Take notice that the Council of the Municipality of South Dundas will hold a public meeting on July 7, 2020 to consider a number of proposed Zoning By-Law Amendments. Read more about each Amendment below.

Taxes
Please note mail delivery of property tax bills will be slightly delayed as postal service is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Property tax payment deadlines have been postponed by the Municipality for 2020 to accommodate residents. First installment property tax payments are due August 31, 2020 and second installment property tax payments are due October 30, 2020.

Noxious Weeds
Notice to residents and property owners regarding noxious weeds. Under the Weed Control Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter W.5 Section 3, 13, 16 and 23, you are requested to destroy all noxious weeds on your property. Please read the full notice here: 2020 Weed Ad.

Pesticide Use
Please note that the Municipality of South Dundas will use pesticides to control weeds along the rural roadsides in South Dundas beginning May 11, 2020 (weather permitting) and ending July 11, 2020. Please read the full notice here. 

Hydro One Vegetation Maintenance
Hydro One is scheduled to complete vegetation maintenance on the right-of-way in South Dundas in 2020. Work will include the removal of incompatible vegetation, including brush (vegetation less than four inches in diameter) and dead, diseased or hazardous trees.
