Programs

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is fun, fast-paced and exciting. Students will hone their punching and kicking techniques on punching pads, learn aerobic-type kicking and focus on strength and core training. All levels welcome.

The following classes will be held at the Iroquois Civic Centre NOT the Municipal Centre:

Bootcamp

Bootcamp is a co-ed class that offers strength, cardio, flexibility, core and agility training. This class is geared to all levels of fitness. Each class is formatted differently so you will never have the same class twice.

H.I.I.T.

Push yourself to the limit with high intensity interval training. For those looking for a challenge. Train agility, endurance, cardio and strength using body weight movements and a variety of equipment.

Hatha Yoga

Stretching and strength exercises, along with relaxation techniques, help to maintain and improve flexibility and physical health. Yoga helps to calm the nervous system, improve mental focus, and provide an overall sense of well-being.

Chair Yoga

Enjoy the benefits of yoga in an environment that will allow you to exercise at your own comfort level. Participants can perform yoga from a chair or a mat. Ages 50 and up.

Senior's Fitness

This free program incorporates exercises for balance, strength, and endurance with emphasis on correct posture and tightened core. This objective of this class is to keep you moving by exercising while standing, sitting and/or both. Their will be an emphasis on knowing one’s limitations while having fun and keeping all your joints and muscles moving.

Technology for Seniors

Have you recently joined the technology race and bought a smartphone or tablet and you're not sure how to get started? Want to keep friends up to date on your life? Janeen Wagemans is here to help! Each class will cover a different aspect on how to use your new gadget and will be sure to leave you feeling tech savvy.

Stick and Puck

Come and work on your puck control, passing and skating skills.

Please see Stick and Puck Rules and observe the following:

  • Helmets, gloves, and skates are mandatory for all participants.
  • Hockey games or practices are not permitted
  • All participants under 12 years of age must be always supervised by an adult. Adult to Child ratio: 1 to 2
  • Full hockey equipment and helmet with cage is mandatory for all participants under 12 years of age

Fees: $5 drop-in fee
Days: Thursdays (October 21 – March 24)
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 4:50 p.m.

All Participants 12 years and older must show proof of full vaccination and ID upon entry of the Arena

Walking Club

Join Doreen Henderson on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Matilda Hall for a free walking club!

Starts Nov 2, 2021

Must sign-in and show Proof of Full Vaccination and ID to participate in each session.

Running Club

Join our fitness instructors for a weekly running club.

Tuesdays and Sundays. Time and location to be decided based on interest.

Taekwon-Do

Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art that teaches various kicks, punches, blocks and techniques used for the main purpose of self-defence. Through consistent training, students will experience improvements in physical fitness, balance and agility, self-confidence, self-control, self-defence, awareness and concentration. Discipline and self-effort are expected. Classes are led by Black Belt VIII Degree, Senior Master Ralph Marin.

Taekwondo classes are currently scheduled to proceed in January 2022.

Art Hanging Program

The South Dundas Art Hanging Program provides residents of Dundas County with an opportunity to display their work at the South Dundas Municipal Centre for a one year display period. If you are interested in participating in the program, please contact Kalynn Sawyer Helmer at 613-543-2673.
