Below you will find the Municipality of South Dundas By-Law regarding open air burning throughout the Municipality as well as the Open Air Burn Permit Application required.
South Dundas residents can now apply for recreational burn permits using a new online system on the Municipality’s website. As per By-Law 2019-70, recreational fires are permitted, under certain conditions, with a valid open air burn permit.
Means an open air fire where the burning of clean dry seasoned firewood solely for the purposes of cooking food, providing warmth and recreational enjoyment. Burning must be contained with-in a non-combustible container or fire pit that must not exceed 61 centimeters (24 inches). The material to be burned does not exceed 45 centimeters (18 inches) in diameter and 45 centimeters (18 inches) in height.

By using the phone number associated with your account, simply call the number provided to activate a permit and enjoy your recreational fire.
