• Cycling

  Our region is considered an excellent cycling destination, with a variety of wide-paved shoulders on County and Municipal roads, with excellent opportunities for rest, food and drink, and exploring South Dundas along the way.

  The famed Waterfront Trail, which extends from Lake Huron to the Quebec border, passes through our Municipality along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, making it an ideal route to get here from the East or West directions.

  One of the more popular routes for south-bound entrance to South Dundas is through Stagecoach Road in Embrun, ON to County Rd #1, which will take cyclists into the heart of Iroquois.

• Boating

  Nestled along the St. Lawrence River, South Dundas is ideally located for boaters to access the region from the East and West directions, as well as from South of the border from the United States. A number of marinas and docking stations can be found in the region for convenient access to all that our Municipality has to offer.

  Pleasure craft boaters can visit The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway  for nautical charts, tolls, schedules, water levels and other information.

• Flying

  South Dundas even has convenient access to the area for aircraft, with two airports to allow for safe landings of small planes.

  Morrisburg Airport is located adjacent to the famed Upper Canada Village and next to Upper Canada Golf Course. Operated by the St. Lawrence Parks Commission, this airport is safely situated in an open field area along Highway #2.

  Iroquois Airport is a privately-owned airport along the St. Lawrence River in the town of Iroquois. Located near a number of attractions, such as the Iroquois Campground, Carman House Museum, Iroquois Locks and more, this is an excellent access point to our Municipality’s visitor attractions.

  Prior permission to land at the Iroquois Airport is required, and can be obtained by contacting John Ross at (613) 657-1646.

• Scuba Diving

  Well known as a freshwater diver's delight, the St. Lawrence River is ripe with interesting historical shipwrecks stretching as far back as the early 1800s, each with its own story.

  South Dundas' most prominent wreck belong to the massive Eastcliffe Hall which sank in 1970, taking with it the lives of nine crew members. There are 15 dive sites in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry covering 100 kilometers of the St. Lawrence River.

  Divers can expect warm and clear waters throughout the summer and into the early fall. Diving is possible year-round for more adventurous divers with river access available from a variety of locations. Nearby dive companies such as O2ToGo offer rentals, dive trips, classes and more.
