With the New Year comes some new faces to South Dundas. On January 3, 2022, Leslie Drynan joined the Municipality as Clerk. She brings with her a host of experience in local government as the former Clerk/Deputy CAO of the County of Lanark.
Later this month, Palak Mehta and Lachlan McDonald will begin as the Deputy Clerk and Treasurer, respectively. Palak joins the Municipality after beginning her Municipal career in North Grenville in 2020, while Lachlan comes from a six-year stint as treasurer with South Glengarry and various positions prior.
“We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Leslie, Lachlan and Palak,” said Mayor Steven Byvelds. “We look forward to working with them and seeing what their collective experience and ideas will bring to the table.”
Other changes include some internal shifting of staff with former Building and Planning Technician, Tara Fairbairn - who has served the Municipality since 2008 - starting as Executive Assistant/HR Coordinator. Additionally, Deputy Chief Building Official, Andrew Turner steps up as Acting Chief Building Official.
“2022 is starting strong for the Municipality with some exciting changes. Our staff continuously work hard for the residents of South Dundas. We expect nothing less from our much-welcome newcomers and believe the internal changes will work to improve our services and the professional growth of our staff,” said Chief Administrative Officer, Shannon Geraghty.
