A Magical Night – With Delicious Chili!
On January 11th, energetic snowshoe enthusiasts arrived at Upper Canada Village for a moonlit race. It was all part of the 10th Annual Dion Ignite the Night Snowshoe Race in support of the WDMH Foundation’s Family Care Fund. Funds are used wherever they are needed at Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH). By the end of the evening, $2,900 had been raised!
“We chose Winchester District Memorial Hospital because we wanted to support the local hospital,” explains Dion Snowshoes Ambassador Gilles Parisien.
In addition to 5 or 10K trek, participants were treated to some hospital food! The WDMH New Horizon’s Café supplied the warm chili which we hear was delicious!
“Whether participants raced around the course or enjoyed a leisurely snowshoe around Upper Canada Village, it was truly a magical evening! Thank you to Gilles Parisien and his team for organizing it and to everyone who joined us!” summed up Justine Plummer, Manager of Direct Mail & Events.
